Everyone knows that the happiest place on Earth is none other than Disneyland!! The last time I was in Disneyland was in Paris back in 2011 and to be honest, it was boring. It needed renovation, too many people (we went end of May) and I felt like the €59 I paid wasn’t worth it at all. It might probably be because the last time I went to Disneyland before Paris was back in 2001 in Disneyworld, Florida and that’s, of course, something else. But anyway, if Disneyland Paris was just an amusement park for me, Disneyland HK really brought me back to my kiddie self 🙂
We woke up to a cloudy day and when we were ready to leave, it started to rain! Good thing it didn’t last long and off we went to have a heavy brunch at 10:30AM before going to Disneyland. We ate at Toast Box and I had no idea they had branches here in the Philippines already. There I was enjoying Singaporean cuisine and wishing there was a branch back in Manila. Haha!
Hainanese Chicken set with Century Egg and Tofu
Off to Disneyland!
People literally ran to the train as if it was about to leave hahahaha
We’re here!!!!! 😀
Obligatory Disney photo
As we walked through Main St. The weather wasn’t so nice but it was pretty warm that day.
Sleeping Beauty’s castle 🙂
2 Disneylands down! 🙂
We went to Tomorrowland first to ride Space Mountain!
We decided to take the Fast Pass and ride Buzz Lightyear’s Astroblasters first 🙂
The parade started at 1PM so we watched while waiting for our Fast Pass time in Space Mountain.
I started being all kiddie by the time I saw Mickey
The parade was just as magical as I remembered when I first watched in 2001. Granted I was around 9 years old at that time, I loved how Disneyland HK showcased newer Disney characters that can be seen in their park. I wanted to cry, k!!! I really felt like I traveled back to 10 years ago!
We went back to Tomorrowland after the parade to ride Space Mountain!
Obviously Dom is deathly afraid of rollercoaster rides so we weren’t able to convince him to ride Grizzly Gulch anymore 😦
We went to Fantasyland next, where most of the kiddie rides were. We took a fast pass ticket for the Winnie the Pooh ride and went to Mickey’s 4D Philharmagic show!
It showed Donald Duck trying to steal Mickey’s hat and going through the different Disney characters and their songs. I loved the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin scenes! ❤
Off we went to Toy Story Land! It was only there that we noticed everything was super sized so that we would feel like we were the toys. Too. Cool.
Unknowingly, I took this picture hours before this boy finally asked the question. Haha! More on that later 🙂
Woody > Buzz. Gorby would beg to differ.
A for Angangco, N for negro (WASN’T ME HAHAHA sorry Gorby hahahaha), D for Dasig, Y for Yorro!
Too bad RC Racer was due for maintenance that day 😦
The only thing we rode that day!
It’s scarier than it looks 😛
Liz so cute!
Adventureland was next!
I ran to these water-spraying Tiki Totems, wanting to be splashed haha!
Tarzan’s tree house
We waited in line for the English Jungle River Cruise where most of the people lined up were Filipinos 😛
At the start of the day, I badly wanted to buy a Minnie Mouse headband that I would wear the whole day but when we got there I couldn’t find one until Gorby saw it after the cruise! Happily wore this until we got home 🙂
We watched Return of Lion King at 4:30PM!
The show made me wish I watched it on Broadway back in 2009. It was so good! Lion King was the first Disney movie I watched and has remained one of my favorites 🙂
We walked back to Fantasyland for the Winnie the Pooh ride!
It was actually a really simple ride, like the It’s a Small World one, but the story telling was fantastic plus all the details they did per scene!
Walking out of Fantasyland, we saw Rapunzel and Cinderella having photo ops. We lined up like little kiddies!
Cinderella: Wow, so many friends! From which land did you all come from?
Miggi: From your land!
Snow White and the 7 Dwarves
We visited Big Grizzly Mountain for the big kids ride (which Dom didn’t even try anymore) and there was literally no line! So we rode three consecutive times :))
Went back to Fantasyland and saw that Disney characters were at Fantasy Gardens having pictures taken! We had our individual photos taken with Mickey 🙂
We were in a cup with Liz and we turned it around so much just to piss off Liz 😛
We had our own individual shopping trips while waiting for the fireworks to start at 9PM. Gorby and I finished around 8:15PM and we started looking for Yorro when he said he wanted to see the castle close up. I knew something was up when he asked me “Did you know I started doing origami again a few days ago?” because he asked me the same question a day ago!! HAHA! Probably a cliche place to be asked but I felt more relieved first then happy when he finally asked haha initially, we were supposed to go to Victoria Peak after Disneyland (We were supposed to go there yesterday too!) and he would ask me there but my feet hurt so much, I told him I wanted to go straight home after dinner. He didn’t want to move dates anymore (he had to scribble 5 to remove the 4 in his letter) so he went impromptu and went for it! Okay, I talked about this for too long but that’s also the reason why Disneyland is one of my happiest places on Earth #cheese 🙂
ANYWAY, back to the post.
So many people lined up for the fireworks!
And our Disneyland trip finally finished with a breath-taking display of fireworks along with a Disney soundtrack 🙂
*Not my photo. Found it in Google Images
We ended the night with a trip to the ever-reliable McDo at 10:30PM (most of the restaurants were closed already and we were too tired to find one) and munched on our dinner in our hotel. That day was my favorite in the 4 days we were all together, even without that plus plus plus event at night. Haha!
